You don’t have to reach a certain weight or level of physical illness before seeking support for an eating disorder.

Eating disorders can affect people at any weight, and the seriousness of an eating disorder isn’t determined by weight alone. If eating, exercise, body image or thoughts about food are having a significant impact on your life, relationships, physical health or emotional wellbeing, it’s worth seeking professional support.

At Orri, we look at the whole person rather than relying on weight alone. An assessment helps us understand your symptoms, physical health, circumstances and current level of support, so we can recommend the most appropriate pathway.

Orri is an Eating Disorder Treatment Clinic offering both day treatment and outpatient services for eating disorder recovery.

Clients can attend day treatment online or in person, and attend outpatient sessions online (with our in person outpatient clinic launching in Autumn 2023).

Yes! Our Blend programme offers both online and in person treatment as part of a treatment programme. We recognise some clients will need a level of flexibility in terms of their location or commitments, and as such, we would discuss this further as part of the assessment process.

Parents and carers are an important part of recovery. We provide guidance and practical strategies to help families understand the eating disorder, communicate openly and feel more confident supporting recovery at home. Family Therapy can be added to any programme to offer a deeper level of support alongside your loved one. A variety of support groups are also available across our programmes to offer additional support.

Recovery is an incredibly personal journey and each person’s experience of their illness will be different. As a result there’s no set timeframe for how long someone will be under our care.

Our day treatment programmes start at 6 weeks’ long, however clients typically extend their programmes to continue progressing in recovery. Each day treatment programme includes review meetings where we come together to discuss what’s working and where you may want or need further support.

Our clients follow a structured programme of therapeutic groups, supported meals and individual sessions, with regular breaks throughout the day. Full-day sessions run from 10:15am to 4pm, while part-day options are available depending on each person’s needs, circumstances and clinical assessment. Individual psychological therapy, dietetics and occupational therapy are woven into the timetable where needed.
