Outpatient Occupational Therapist

Orri is looking for an Outpatient Occupational Therapist to join our soon to launch outpatient service!

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with clients, carers and other professionals in line with agreed standards, clinical polices and without direct supervision, for those clients who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder. In addition to this you will be expected to be closely involved in discharge planning and immediate follow up from the service user care.

Our Occupational Therapists are expected to manage clients using evidence based and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, which provide clients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living.

They will be accountable to the Head of Occupational Therapy for the management of their workload and the delegated functions to other team members ensuring that the right level of competency of their team members is matched to duties being undertaken. You will practice within and ensure that the practice of junior team members is within legal and ethical frameworks according to appropriate codes of professional conduct, mental health legislation and contractual obligations.

Within your role as Occupational Therapist, you will be expected to interface between Community Mental Health Teams, In-Patient services and other Mental Health Network services and agencies. The post holder will be expected to have significant knowledge and interest in working with people who have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, and competent to support their physiological and psychological needs as they arise.
