Nurturing Hope: Letting Go

Orri is a specialist eating disorder treatment clinic offering expert day treatment and outpatient programmes for long-term recovery.

Nurturing Hope is our free collective healing space led by Orri clinicians, exploring eating disorder recovery around a central and relevant theme. This month we’re exploring the theme of “Letting Go”.

October, with its autumnal charm, represents a poignant opportunity to “let go” of what we no longer need in our eating disorder recovery. As leaves fall from the trees, we’re inspired by this natural process, symbolising the release of old habits, negative thoughts, and behaviours that no longer serve us. This act of letting go allows us to shed burdens and create space for growth and renewal.

Just as fallen leaves decompose to enrich the soil, what we release can become the foundation from which we grow stronger and more resilient. Embracing this symbolism, October encourages us to reflect on our journey, discard what holds us back, and nurture the new beginnings that emerge from our commitment to recovery.

  • What are we ready to let go of?
  • What keeps us holding on?
