Nurturing Hope: Good Intentions

Orri is a specialist eating disorder treatment clinic offering expert day treatment and outpatient programmes for long-term recovery.

Nurturing Hope is our free collective healing space led by Orri clinicians, exploring eating disorder recovery around a central and relevant theme.

This month we’re exploring the theme of “Knowing What We Need”. Summer, often hailed as a season of freedom and relaxation, can be particularly challenging for individuals with eating disorders. The seemingly endless expanse of time, devoid of the structured routines provided by school or work, can exacerbate feelings of anxiety and isolation. Instead of enjoying carefree adventures or traveling with friends, those battling eating disorders may find themselves compelled to focus intensively on their recovery.

During these times we may feel conflicted, wondering which direction to turn. Whether we should do what we want, or what we need…

In this Nurturing Hope session, we’ll explore questions as such:

  • How do we know when to prioritise recovery over the things we ‘want’ to do?
  • What stops us from knowing or doing what we need?
  • What resources can we draw on for guidance?

This free event is specifically for those in recovery, and will be hosted as a Zoom ‘meeting’. All participants will be muted upon entry and can raise their hand to share when they wish.
