Nurturing Hope: Letting Go

Orri is a specialist eating disorder treatment service, offering expert day treatment and outpatient programmes designed to support long-term recovery.

Nurturing Hope is our free, clinician-led space exploring eating disorder recovery through monthly themes that meet people where they are.

Eating disorders can become ways of coping — offering a sense of safety, control or identity during difficult or overwhelming experiences. Because of this, recovery isn’t always as simple as wanting the eating disorder gone.

Letting go of something that once felt protective can bring grief, fear and uncertainty. It can also raise difficult questions about identity: who am I without this, and what will take its place?

In Letting Go, we’ll explore the emotional complexity of releasing coping strategies that may once have served a purpose but no longer support the life you want to build.

Together, we’ll consider grief and identity in recovery, recognising patterns that no longer serve us, and gradually developing new ways of finding safety, support and connection.

Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting what got you through. It means making space for something new.

This session will be led by Kerrie Jones, CEO & Founder of Orri.
