Sylvia is an Eating Disorder Dietitian at Orri, where she supports clients in rebuilding their relationship with food through compassionate, evidence-based dietetic interventions. With over 8 years of clinical experience across the UK and New Zealand, Sylvia has worked with clients with eating disorders in inpatient, outpatient, and day patient treatment settings. She has worked with both adults and young people. She brings a wealth of expertise to her role.
Sylvia holds a Master’s in Dietetics (distinction). She is trained in specific eating disorder therapies; CBT-e, FBT, and SSCM. She has facilitated specialist group programmes for individuals with Bulimia Nervosa and has been involved in DBT skills groups. Sylvia is particularly passionate about the power of group work in fostering connection and resilience throughout recovery.
Prior to joining Orri, Sylvia led dietetic services at two NHS speciality eating disorder units, overseeing complex nutritional care, refeeding protocols, and the supervision of junior dietitians and students. From 2022-2024, Sylvia led a Quality Improvement project focused on improving meal support for clients with eating disorders. This resulted in the creation of the Oxford Health NHS Trust’s : Engaging in and Achieving Therapeutic (E.A.T) Meal Support Training program. This e-learning course is available nationally for professionals working in eating disorders.
Sylvia currently sits on the Royal College of Psychiatry’s Quality in Eating Disorders (QED) accreditation committee. She enjoyed being involved in the regular QED reviews and helping speciality eating disorder units and services, learn from each other and share quality improvements.
Sylvia’s approach is rooted in the Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy, with a strong commitment to reducing stigma and increasing access to inclusive, person-centred care for all bodies. At Orri, she combines clinical depth with warmth and clarity, creating a safe space for clients to explore nourishment, body image, and long-term healing.
