Sana is a Family & Systemic psychotherapist who joined Orri in September 2023 and works across both daycare and outpatient clinics. She has over 20 years’ experience of working with families, couples and individuals within the NHS and the private sector.
In her work with families and couples, Sana recognizes the importance of building a relationship of trust, safety, warmth and collaboration, acknowledging the impact of mutual influence in any therapeutic interaction and how this is communicated. In addition, Sana works to support families in understanding shared and divergent beliefs, values, cultural and other influences, in helping create a space in which to explore unhealthy patterns of behaviour, response and their impact on family functioning.
Throughout her career, Sana has worked with a variety of age groups struggling with eating disorder, noticing the impact of increased complexities, daily environmental stressors, in addition to life cycle demands has had on those struggling with eating disorder and their family. In creating a warm and inclusive space, Sana invites conversations that help create systemic change through clearer understanding of needs, challenges and opportunities. These changes in turn require adaptive response from therapy and within the system, to reach a better understanding of the impact this has on individual and familial relationships.
