Orri is a specialist eating disorder treatment clinic offering expert day treatment and outpatient programmes for long-term recovery.
Nurturing Hope is our free collective healing space led by Orri clinicians, exploring eating disorder recovery through a central and relevant theme. This month, we’re focusing on “The Hunger for Love.”
February is often framed as a celebration of love and connection, but for many people in eating disorder recovery, relationships can bring complex emotions. Questions around self-worth, closeness and vulnerability can feel deeply intertwined with anxiety, body image and appetite.
Our theme, “The Hunger for Love,” explores the relationship between attachment, anxiety and eating — and how unmet emotional needs can influence both relationships and eating disorder behaviours. Together, we’ll reflect on whether it’s possible to connect with others when self-criticism is loud, and how recovery can support safer, more nourishing relationships.
Through this session, we’ll explore dating and intimacy in recovery, the role of attachment patterns, and how learning to recognise and meet emotional needs can support both relational and physical healing. Join us as we consider how recovery is not only about food, but about allowing care, connection and love — from others and ourselves.
