Ellie joined the Orri daycare programme in August 2025 as an Eating Disorder Therapist, having previously worked at Orri since 2018 in a range of roles, including communications and admissions, where she supported prospective clients through intake assessments.
Since qualifying as a therapist, Ellie has worked in private practice and across clinical settings such as university counselling services and low-cost counselling services. She supports clients with eating disorders, OCD, relational challenges, and anxiety, and holds an MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy, completing her research thesis on the impact of therapist self-disclosure in eating disorder treatment.
Ellie takes an integrative, relational approach, drawing on person-centred therapy, psychodynamic theory, compassion-focused therapy (CFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Her work with eating disorders is rooted in exploring the deeper layers – unpacking the underlying causes that can give rise to an eating disorder as a means of protection or coping. Ellie places emphasis on building trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship, helping clients move towards awareness, self-compassion, and meaningful change.
