Meet the team

Selma Zaki,

CEO and Founder

Selma Zaki is a psychologist that works as art of our outpatient team, working with adults of diverse identities and backgrounds.

She received her graduate degree at Columbia University and has worked in several clinical settings in New York City, including private practices, hospitals, and community health centers. Selma also worked in human rights as a Director of Community Mental Health Program, supporting and serving activists across different countries and contexts.

Selma primarily practices relational psychodynamic therapy, and integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Somatic Therapy into her practice. She works with a broad range of psychological issues including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, existential concerns, and individual, collective, and intergenerational trauma.

In her work with clients, Selma focuses on building a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship where you can safely examine how developmental, relational, and environmental realities might have influenced psychological health. She simultaneously supports you in developing tools and skills to support them in processing and letting go of unhelpful thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. With increased awareness and emotional and psychological skills, you can move towards practicing and integrating new ways of being.

Selma can provide psychotherapy in both English and Arabic.
