We believe in collaboration.
Working together
At Orri, we believe that eating disorder treatment is most effective when we work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and existing relationships.
Eating disorders are complex mental illnesses, and there’s no ‘one way’ to support someone in recovery. We’re here to work together to ensure recovery becomes possible for all.
Where beneficial, referrers are invited to participate in client multidisciplinary meetings as patients/clients progress in their treatment. If your patient/client wishes to continue in one-to-one therapy with you, whilst in day treatment we can accommodate this.
If you have a patient/client who you think could benefit from our services, we are here to help.

Our approach to recovery
“I think your clinical model is the best I have seen both as a husband and parent.”
At the heart of Orri’s approach is the intention to support and heal the whole person, not just the symptoms of the eating disorder.
By offering intensive day treatment, we can support clients across the spectrum of risk to take meaningful steps in recovery.
We do this by combining a number of evidence-based and innovative therapeutic approaches to meet the psychological and physical needs of our individual clients.
Our stepped approach to treatment means that the intensity and duration of each programme is unique to the individual and evolves with them over time. As clients progress in treatment and recovery, they ‘step down’ their level of support in line with their needs. This supports the transition back to life without the added support of specialist treatment.
Working collaboratively with you from day one
Our next steps
Your referral will be reviewed by our clinical team. If the team feel that Orri can support your patient/client, assuming we have consent, we will contact them directly (or the person you have identified as the person to contact) to arrange an in-depth, 90-minute assessment via Zoom.
Consistent collaboration
We understand that ongoing collaboration across a multi-disciplinary team is crucial to long-term recovery. We will engage you in every step of the way and seek your input and perspective as your patient/client progresses in their treatment.
Outstanding treatment, with kindness and compassion
In our first full inspection in 2021, Orri was rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
As well as the overall ‘outstanding’ rating, Orri was recognised as ‘outstanding’ in all of the CQC’s five key lines of enquiry: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
This places Orri in the top 1% of mental health services in the UK and the only specialist eating disorder services with an ‘outstanding’ rating.
Helen Rawlings, CQC’s Head of Hospital Inspection said, “People’s needs were central to everything the staff and management did, which has resulted in an outstanding service. It is an excellent example to other providers who should look to learn from this report.”
Compassion, kindness, hope, professionalism, respect, collaboration and dignity underpin Orri’s treatment model, and these themes were all highlighted in the CQC report: “People we spoke to were overwhelmingly positive about the staff, who, they told us, met their unique and individual needs with kindness and compassion,” said Ms Rawlings.
